MET POLICE OFFICER CHARGED WITH ASSAULT BY BEATING

A serving police officer has been charged following an allegation of assault.

PC David Guest, based on Kingston Borough, was served with a postal charge requisition to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ court on Friday, 19 May for the charge of assault by beating.

He was notified of this decision on Tuesday, 11 April.

The charge follows an investigation by the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards relating to an arrest that took place whilst PC Guest was on duty in Kingston-upon-Thames on 15 October 2016.

The officer is currently on restricted duties.
