Man Dies After Going 7 Rounds Of Sex For A N50,000 Bet

Facts have emerged on how a man, simply known as Davy, died in a popular hotel in Lagos during a sex competition with a lady.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the popular hotel located in Ikotun area of Lagos where the deceased took the lady identified as Loveth for the competitive romp.
Sources claim that the late Davy had argued with Loveth over which of them can last longer during a sex romp.

Both decided to settle the wager and staked a N50,000 bet between them.

So the pair both booked the Ikotun, Lagos hotel and embarked on the sex-athon.

All went well and they both lasted into six rounds.

The couple had started the 7th round of romping before Davy suddenly slumped on top of his “opponent” and died.

Loveth immediately raised the alarm and summoned the hotel management.
Astonishingly, she was handed her over to the Ikotun Police Division while the corpse of the deceased was deposited at an undisclosed hospital for an autopsy examination.

However, Loveth was later transferred to the SCIID Panti Yaba, where she told the police what transpired between her and late Davy.

It is believed officers informed Loveth that her fate will depend on the outcome of the autopsy report.

In the worst case scenario, she could be charged for murder.

What causes death during sex?

Death can occur during consensual sex for a number of reasons, generally because of the physical strain of the activity, or because of unusual extenuating circumstances. There are various euphemisms for death during sex, including “dying in the saddle” or the French “la mort d’amour”.

Sexual intimacy, as well as orgasms, increases levels of the hormone oxytocin, also known as “the love hormone”, which helps people bond and build trust.

Sexual activity is also known as one of many mood repair strategies, which means it can be used to help dissipate feelings of sadness or depression.

A 2011 meta-analysis in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that each additional hour of sexual activity per week resulted in an increased risk of 2-3 myocardial infarctions and one sudden cardiac death per 10,000 person-years.

Sexual intercourse can also trigger asubarachnoid hemorrhage via the Valsalva maneuver.

A 2011 meta-analysis published in Journal of Sexual Medicine found that men who were unfaithful were significantly more likely than those who were faithful to experience severe or fatal cardiac events during sex.

Basilar artery dissection has also been reported in connection with sexual activity, though most coital cephalalgia is benign in nature.

Deaths during consensual sex only account for approximately 0.6% of all sudden deaths. Viagra, although generally considered to be a safe drug, has been linked to sudden cardiovascular death during sexual activity among elderly or otherwise infirm men. The majority of deaths due to cardiovascular causes during sex do occur in males. A number of deaths during consensual sex have been linked to the use of other prescription or recreational drugs, such as cocaine.
