I DO NOT HAVE CANCER: JANET JACKSON

Janet Jackson has taken to Twitter to deny speculation that she is suffering from throat cancer.

The singer announced on Christmas Eve that she was postponing the remainder of her Unbreakable World Tour while she undergoes medical treatment – with website Radar Online claiming that she had a tumour on her vocal cords.

However Janet has now refuted the claims via social media – releasing a message to her fans on Instagram in a bid to reassure them.

‘The rumours are untrue, she said. ‘I do not have cancer. I’m recovering.

‘My doctors have approved my concerts as scheduled in Europe and, as I promised, the postponed shows will be rescheduled.’

She added: ‘Thank you for your prayers and love.’

The 49-year-old singer had been due to resume her tour, following a break, in Denver on January 9 – with dates in London, Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham scheduled in March and late April.

In a previous statement she asked fans to hold on to their tickets, saying: ‘Every date will be rescheduled. Please hold on to your tickets,’ adding: ‘Please pray for me, my family and our entire company during this difficult time.

‘There will be no further comment. I love you all so much and am ever grateful for your understanding and your love. Gon’ b alright
