Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating an incident in which a boy died and a girl sustained critical injuries.
Police were called at around 23:10 on Saturday, 18 March, to two children injured at a flat in Wilberforce Road, N4.
Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service (LAS) and found a boy and girl – both aged one – with critical injuries.
They were taken by the LAS to an east London hospital, but the boy was pronounced dead at 00:48 hrs. Next of kin are aware. Formal identification awaits and a post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.
The girl remains in hospital in a critical condition.
Enquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
There has been no arrest at this stage.
