2 STABBED IN WOOLWICH, SOUTH EAST LONDON

Two men are fighting for their lives after being stabbed in south London.

Police were called just after 4pm on Tuesday to reports of a man bleeding in Sandy Hill Road, Woolwich.

Officers attended and he was taken to a south London hospital, along with a second man who found at a nearby property shortly afterwards.
Police said both men were being treated for life-threatening stab wounds.

Daniel Whiting, 20, a business IT student who lives yards from the crime scene, said: “There was a guy sitting on a doorstep and there was a lot of blood on the ground.

“An ambulance rushed past and then 10 minutes later the road was taped off. This is a reasonably quiet area, I’ve never seen anything like it.”

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “Greenwich borough CID is at the scene and investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing.”

Police said they did not know the ages of the injured men and no arrests have been made.

Sandy Hill Road and a number of other roads remained closed shortly before 6pm.
